A Farm, A Barn, Gorgeous Fields & Hills and a Pig! Dalduff Farm has it ALL!
I love second shooting for other wedding photographers as I get taken to such lovely places, and Marc Bowker at One Big Picture Photography took me to one of the best wedding venues in Scotland (well, I think so!) yet! An outdoor barn wedding at Dalduff Farm, Ayrshire.
At this lovely wedding we were graced with good weather and so the ceremony could take place in the outdoor Dutch Barns. Three walled barns which take the goodness of feeling outside but with 3 walls and a roof for shelter! I mean we are in Scotland after all!!
You can stay onsite in the farmhouse itself as well which was great for the lads who were there to prep the venue. The flowers and styling were all by the amazing Betty Bluebell who as you can see, did an incredible job with a soft pastel colour palette that complemented the bride’s coloured (squee!) dress by Flossy & Dossy. Signage and props were by the groom’s company handy!) Blue Parrot Events. And stationary and gorgeous handwriting of signs and leather jackets (double squee!) by Daisy Bisley.
The Dutch Barns are a great space for an outdoor ceremony. Covered but still rustic. Open but not too open. And you can decorate them up beautifully! And their striking red sides are great for taking photos against!
The barn itself is where the meal and reception take place, or as Dalduff likes to call it – the wedding feast! And a feast it is! The main courses come as sharing platters so everyone gets to taste lots of different things – all delicious – and make some new friends by fighting over the last rib ;)
And there’s the courtyard between all the buildings which is great for guests to mingle!
Dalduff is a working farm too and so they have scenery in SPADES. There’s gorgeous fields, rolling hills, a beautiful garden at the front of the Farmhouse and a pig called Turbo! Though he’s less scenic, but he is very cute!
So many places for portraits, we were spoiled for choice!
At the side of the red barns:
In the lane leading down to the farmhouse garden:
The farmhouse garden itself (so pretty!) the way the light hits it is beautiful:
And the pièce de résistance…! The field! I love a couple who are willing to climb a fence in their finery for some epic portraits! I think you’ll agree it was worth it!!
And we end on our ever favourite thing CONFETTI!!! So this is my first wedding where they’ve used confetti cannons and I. AM. A. FAN. Ohhh yeah!
Look at that confetti burst! I did think the best men were perhaps going to fire it into their faces, but it all worked out in the end haha!
The barn, as you can see, has a great area for boogieding too, and the band had everyone doing just that.
Larger receptions can be held in the adjoining marquee at the back of the house. Big, light and bright and looking out over rolling fields, what more could you ask for?
What a wedding!! I thoroughly enjoyed myself and really hope that Fotomaki gets to visit Dalduff again soon! Have you booked your Dalduff Farm wedding yet? if not, why not?
